I used to love the food at this place. It was always great, authentic quality food, but the last 2 experiences were disappointing to say the least. The babaganoush and hummus lacked flavor big time. I gave them one more shot and thought maybe it was an off day with the cooks, but the 2nd attempt proved to be worse. Not sure what happened? |

I was hoping to like this place but - ew. It doesn't seem sanitary and the food is just not good. Sorry! Go to Mama's on Alabama Street instead. |

There are a few tables out side but I got a veggie combo to go. $7.99 is reasonable for that amount of food but I only ate half because it wasn't very good. The Tabboulleh, baba ghanouj and the falafel (which tasted mildly of cinnamon) were good enough, the hummous was pastey, the tahini sauce was watery, the dolma was uniquly spiced but very mushy and I didn't finish it.
2 new to me dishes included were the Batinjan (eggplant)decent and Loubia Bizeit (soft green beans with tomato sauce and what tasted like beer)I didn't care for it but have nothing to compare it to. They also have a grilled veggie skewer plate on the menu and sambosa's (filled veggie pastry) that look good in the full color menu. It wasn't awful but I prefer Mama's. I dont think I'll be rushing back. The staff was freindly though. |
